Autodesk Maya#

The Anchorpoint plugin for Maya allows you to add a publish process to your workflow. A “publish” is usually a way of communicating that you have finished a certain task and that the asset has to move to the next step in the pipeline. This can be a review process or an export to another format.

Setting up the project#

To use this workflow, you need to enable the “DCC Pipeline Tools” Action under “Workspace Settings / Actions”. Then you need to restart Anchorpoint to load the integrations.

Installing the Anchorpoint plugin for Maya#

To install the Anchorpoint plugin, you have to add the Anchorpoint plugin folder as a path in your Maya environment file (Maya.env).

  1. In Anchorpoint, click on “Workspace Settings / Integrations”

  2. Look for “Maya and click on “Open Plugin”. This will show you the folder that you need to add to Maya.

  3. In your OS explorer, navigate to C:\Users\USERNAME\Documents\maya\MAYAVERSIONONYOURCOMPUTER

  4. Open the Maya.env file with a text editor

  5. Add this: MAYA_PLUG_IN_PATH = THEANCHORPOINTPLUGINFOLDER For example: “MAYA_PLUG_IN_PATH = C:\Users\johndoe\AppData\Roaming\Anchorpoint Software\Anchorpoint\app\scripts\ap-actions\dcc_pipeline_tools\maya\plugin”

  6. Restart Maya. In case you are seeing a warning “Untrusted Plugin Location”, just accept it. The plugin won’t modify your Maya file, it will just send data to the Anchorpoint desktop application.

  7. In the Plugin Manger search for “Anchorpoint” and load the plugin. Set it also to “Auto Load” so that it will be available when Maya starts
